The Charlottesville Ballet is a professional dance company, dance academy, and a nonprofit organization. The company recently expanded to open a second studio location at IX Art Park and are now bringing back the professional dancers after a long Covid hiatus. The company puts on performances throughout the region, offers many different dance classes, and is involved in a multitude of community initiatives to spread the love and experience of dance to everyone. This is Charlottesville Ballet’s second year with Enactus.

 
 

commonwise home care

Commonwise Care is an in-home caregiver provider that differentiates itself by offering great benefits and a living wage to its workforce, unlike most other players in the industry. In turn, this attracts the most talented and dedicated caregivers, ensuring it can provide the best quality service to its clients. This is Commonwise’s second year with Enactus.

Eltzroth & Thompson is a family owned and operated Greenhouse. Located immediately off of 29, Eltzroth has a beautiful property and greenhouse showcasing their flowers and plants. Over 40 years old, Eltzroth is successful at retaining their current customers, but struggling to gain the attention of new ones. This is Eltzroth’s first year with Enactus.

 
 
 

Guajiros Miami Eatery

Guajiros is a miami eatery located next to the Charlottesville train station. Their food is influenced by Cuban dishes with Central and South American flares. It is owned and operated by three brothers who share the love for cooking and family. This is Guajiros’ first year with Enactus.

Multiverse Kitchens opened two years ago and it is the first digital food hall/ghost kitchen in the Charlottesville area and it prides itself on how it locally sources its ingredients. They have several brands that are sold on its website and via food delivery apps that are all prepared in the same kitchen. This is Multiverse Kitchens’ second year with Enactus.

 
 

NectarShare

Project Leader: Catherine Logeman

NectarShare is a community supported beehive program. Customers choose a hive and purchase a share of that hive for a year. Each hive is associated with a non-profit, and a portion of all shares sold is donated to the non-profit. Upon purchase, each customer received a welcome kit, and throughout the year received video and email updates regarding the shared hive. This is NectarShare’s first year with Enactus.

Renew Capital invests in small and medium enterprises (SME) in Africa to help advance the private sector throughout the region. They manage a network of investors and aim to create a vibrant investment ecosystem that drives economic growth, regional trade, women's economic empowerment and climate-smart manufacturing. This is Renew’s second year with Enactus.

 

sombrero’s mexican cuisine and cafe

Project Leader: Rhea Hemrajani

Senior Consultant: Rebecca Yakobson

Sombrero’s is a local, family-owned Mexican restaurant on the Downtown Mall. The restaurant opened at the peak of the pandemic, but they have since increased their presence and you can now find them around grounds at the farmer’s market, dining hall pop-ups, and the amphitheater food trucks. This is Sombrero’s 4th year with Enactus.

 

STEAMKITX

STEAMKITX is run by a family of educators whose mission is to provide engaging educational activities that explore STEM and Arts careers to all. The owner personally acknowledged that multicultural individuals are often underrepresented in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, so created STEAMKITX to encourage curiosity and excitement in these fields. This is STEAMKITX’s first year with Enactus.

Umma’s is a newly opened Asian and LGBTQ-owned eatery across from the downtown mall that specializes in Korean and Japanese American cuisine. They previously were run out of a food truck but now want to use their brick and mortar store to host events and parties in addition to selling their amazing and authentic food. This is Umma’s second year with Enactus.
